On Friday my mom, grandma, sister and I went to Tougas Farm to pick blueberries. I couldn’t wait because this was my first time picking blueberries. We had to pick four pounds of blueberries to pay $12 for four people. The blueberries bushes were much bigger than I imagined, even though at first I thought blueberries grew on trees (!). At first, I didn’t see many blueberries. My mom wanted us to pick big, blue blueberries. There were no sweet blueberries though. We went farther down the aisle (or whatever you would call it) to find more blueberries. I didn’t see any bigger ones, but when I looked deeper into the bushes it was like blueberry world! There were SO many big and blue blueberries! I started picking immediately. I popped one in my mouth. Mm! It was sweet! I took one from my hand and ate it. I kept on eating until I realized that I was supposed to be PICKING blueberries, not EATING blueberries. But it was too late. I ate all of them from my hand! I picked, but it was hard not to eat. I picked a while, until the bucket was full. Then I went to my mom. I saw she had a bunch of huge blueberries. I took one and popped it in my mouth. She said, “Hey! Don’t eat my blueberries! Go pick your own.” I wasn’t listening though. That was a really sweet blueberry! I picked some and ate some. I picked some, and put some in the bucket. We had a really full bucket! I wondered if we had four pounds. ? Even if we didn’t, the blueberries would last a long time. I was getting hot and sweaty. My sister and I begged our mom to take us home. I was dying in the heat! She finally said OK. I found out that the blueberries were actually a little bit over seven pounds! Wow! That meant we did a lot of work. We got some peaches (unfortunately I am allergic to them). I picked a raspberry, but I didn’t really like it. We had a great lunch. I got a raspberry slushy. It was good!
We went to the Natick Mall. I had been dying to go here. I heard it was a very fancy mall. When I went in, I saw the typical stores you see at a mall. That wasn’t what I expected. But when we walked further, toward the newer part of the mall, it became close to what I expected. We went in a very fancy store called “Nieman Marcus”. It had really fancy clothes, not as expensive as I thought. I wouldn’t wear those to school though. I mostly saw adult clothes, dresses with a bunch of sequences. Flashy! We went out again. My mom and grandma sat down to have a rest. My sister and I found these really bouncy cushions near a waterfall. I saw pennies so I asked my mom for one. She gave me one. This was the first time I ever threw a penny into one of those waterfalls! Throwing it was fun, but after that I thought, why did I just waste a penny? I don’t know. My sister and I played a bit, until my sister started playing with the camera. She took pictures while sitting on the cushion. I sneaked behind her. It was fun! I gave her bunny ears, and followed her back. When she got back to my mom she asked, “Where is Christine?” I tried not to laugh, but I let out a sound. When she turned around, she caught me! I started to laugh. She was like, hey! It was really fun. The mall wasn’t as good as I expected, even though it was fun. I had a good day. I will remember going to the Natick but the blueberries will last long, so I don’t have to worry about remembering them!
