On Cannon Mountain

On a sunny Monday morning my family and I went to Cannon Mountain. I was excited because I loved to go on the huge tram way. As we drove by, I saw how big Mt. Lafayette was. The place on Cannon Mountain that the old man had been was all rocks. The tip of it was in the clouds.

In the tram way, I noticed how steep the trails were. They were very rocky. The director showed us a rock that looked like an old Indian man. I was amazed how rocks could form such cool shapes. We saw the sparkling water of Echo Lake. It was a big lake. As we got to the top the tram way swayed a little.

Right after I got out I felt cold. It was very windy. We started on the wet, sandy trail. I followed Jasmine who liked to lead. We stopped at a lookout. We took a few pictures. I saw lots of other mountains. My dad was showing me Mt. Lafayette when everybody left. My dad showed me a shortcut. It was wet and muddy.

After a while we got to the tower. From there I saw Mt. Lafayette. Suddenly, a huge cloud blocked me. I looked around. The cloud was covering everything! It was cool. We were in a cloud. All around me it was white and blank. Then it moved. I looked closely at Mt. Lafayette with the binoculars. I thought I saw six people.

We headed back. I was tired. Soon we got back. We went on another tram way back. I had lots of fun. My favorite thing was going on the tram way.
